23 September 2016 Last updated at 22:11 BST The RAF has carried out more than 1,000 airstrikes on Iraq and Syria over the past two years. The BBCs Jonathan Beale travels to RAF Akrotiri in Cyprus and flies with the RAF over Iraq as they step up their bombing campaign to liberate Mosul.
