Surprise! Surprise! Has Bryan Colangelo assumed the persona of Sam Hinkie? In a true Hinkie-esque move, the Philadelphia 76ers have once more become the contract salary recycle bin for the NBA. The latest trade involves the Utah Jazz, who have traded center Tibor Pleiss to the Philadelphia 76ers for the services of seldom used point guard Kendall Marshall. The move is seen as a salary dump for the Jazz. Tibor Pleiss was a reserve center for the Jazz who saw action in just 12 games last season, while scheduled to earn $2,800,000 in the 2016-2017 season. Marshall was clearly not in the teams future plans with so many free agent signings in the back court. Converting Marshall and cap space (which the team needed to commit anyways) into two second round picks in 2017 AND cash considerations is an excellent exchange for the team. I have to give this trade an A+ for the Philadelphia 76ers. Seriously excellent. The most logical move is to simply waive Pleiss.
